CD Archiving
In the past, computer generated, business critical documents were microfilmed,
or microfiched to preserve an exact image of the document. Today, storing
electronic documents on CD is the archive media of choice - its inexpensive,
has up to a 100 year shelf life, is easy to access from any desktop and
easy to store on or off-site.
Input Streams:
Lanvera accepts print ready ASCII, EBCDIC, AFP, PCL, Postscript, Metacode
and PDF or any data or database format for archiving.
Archiving Format:
Lanvera customers have the option of archiving in the native file format
or Lanvera will convert to Adobe PDF. Documents archived can be indexed
(customer specified indexes) for easy search and retrieval.
Viewing:
Lanvera provides free Windows query software and viewer allowing instant
access to any archived document, using customer specified indexes. Files
stored in ASCII can also be viewed and searched with any text editor product.
Files stored in PDF can be viewed and searched using Adobe's free Acrobat
reader, which is available for virtually all platforms. Lanvera's query
software can be loaded on a Windows network server for multi user access
or loaded on individual desktops.
Document Copies:
Lanvera's query software has the added feature of sending selected documents
to a local printer, fax server or sending as an e-mail attachment - all
automatically.
FTP Downloads:
Once Lanvera has converted and indexed your documents, your files will
be made available immediately (within hours of receiving your data) for
FTP download from Lanvera's secure servers. Downloads offer the advantage
of immediate availability by customer service personnel, for proofing
prior to print or archiving to tape as part of normal back ups.
