e-Statements

Before data can be formatted and presented electronically, it must be transformed from a print or database format into a Web enabled document. Lanvera's advanced technology group helps you select the best web delivery approach for your statements / invoices. Two primary methods of document web presentment have surfaced as standards - Adobe PDF and XML / HTML.

Adobe PDF: Exact Image of Printed Documents:
Companies that require an exact image of the printed statement / invoice should strongly consider Lanvera's transformed PDF format. Lanvera, using special software tools, combines pre-printed paper, front / back printing, multiple form overlays, logos and special fonts to duplicate the exact image, including color, of what is mailed - not your original input stream. The PDF file is then indexed based on your search criteria, (typically invoice number, account number and name) for fast on-line retrieval.

Advantages of Lanvera's Transformed PDF Format are:

  • The image is exactly what is printed. Your customers will be more comfortable electing electronic delivery knowing there is one document - mailed or electronic.
  • The PDF format has become the standard format for on-line document delivery. Acrobat Reader is available on virtually any platform and is a free download.
  • PDF format contains all Windows print handling characteristics so printing is easy to any local Windows printer including "fit to page" capabilities.
  • PDF files capture the image at a point in time - a "picture" of what was received by the customer. "Built on the fly" database views change with changes made to underlying database tables affecting historical views.
  • Fonts, logos, electronic forms and graphic images can be embedded in the PDF eliminating any client side software, fonts or applets, virtually eliminating tech support issues.
  • PDF documents are files, so individual PDF documents can be e-mailed, faxed, printed or archived to other media.
  • PDF is considered a legal substitute for an original in many states making PDF a great archiving format.

XML / HTML for Transaction Presentation:
For customers that prefer storing transactions for display by date selectivity or prefer on-line templates by customer, customer type or product line, Lanvera provides an XML / HTML solution for browser display.

The Advantages of XML / HTML are:

  • Data is stored in a database format so storage requirements are much smaller than PDF image files that include embedded fonts and graphics.
  • Statement / Invoice generation is "built on the fly" using on-line templates for data presentation. Easy to build templates make different presentations by customer, customer type or product type relatively simple.
  • Rules based processing allows easy implementation of dynamic messaging or specific client data.
  • Statements / Invoices that contain large numbers of pages are much faster with " page at a time" display using HTML. PDF file sizes grow as the number of pages grows, adding to customer download times.

Web Presentment:
Lanvera provides web-hosting services on our high bandwidth, secure servers available 24 x 7. Our customers find a complete turnkey solution quicker, safer and more cost effective than the large investment required for software tool evaluations, software licenses, software training and on-going support required for in-house deployment. In short, we provide a no risk, quick entry to the e-statement world.

Statement / Invoice History:
Hosting a history of statements or invoices for 6, 12, 18, or 24 months will reduce customer service calls asking for copies of old documents. Lanvera will provide the right amount of history for your company, including conversion of prior periods.

Marketing Promotions:
Eliminating mailing costs with e-statements saves money but also eliminates the ability to market to customers using envelope inserts. Lanvera will scan marketing inserts, newsletters or other promotional materials for on-line presentation along with your e-statements or invoices.
