LINUX Engineer

THE COMPANY:

Lanvera is a leading CCM (Customer Communications Management) outsourcing and technology company specializing in the design, production, and delivery of secure customer communications including invoices, statements, tax forms, collection letters, compliance notices and other business critical documents to any delivery channel including print, electronic and mobile platforms. Lanvera has a strong presence in the Financial Services industry and is expanding into other vertical markets.  

THE POSITION:

Seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer with Linux expertise.  This individual will manage containers in an on-prem environment.  As a key member of the DevOps team, you will maintain Kubernetes uptime, stability, performance, and security to ensure the highest customer service levels. You will leverage your people skill as you develop and implement agile solutions that scale with the business and involve close collaboration across IT, development and business stakeholders.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer production Kubernetes including associated 3rd party apps to ensure high availability and performance
  • Administer underlying Linux OS (ie. Ubuntu), hardening, updating and optimizing for Kubernetes
  • Collaborate closely with Infrastructure to ensure underlying clusters and worker nodes are optimized
  • Collaborate closely with Release Engineers to ensure CI/CD pipeline runs smoothly
  • Develop scripts to automate manual functions
  • Actively monitor Kubernetes and take preventive or corrective action to address issues swiftly
  • Define, document and implement policies and procedures for monitoring, backups, security, DR and capacity planning
  • Maintain non-prod environments to support efficient development lifecycles (ie. SDLC)
  • Bring a passion to stay current on industry trends and related technology
  • Adhere closely to change control and related ITIL practices
  • Adept at providing technical input to personnel within the organization
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Work in a highly collaborative software development environment that is primarily onsite


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide best practice design guidance to ensure growing business demands are met
  • Assist in development of processes that facilitate speed and agility


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator
  • 5+ years’ experience administering Linux environments
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting Kubernetes in a production environment


DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with VMWare vSphere environment and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid
  • Experience with Elastic Stack, Quartz, RabbitMQ, Prometheus, and Grafana
